The college process is stressful, but college touring can and should be fun.

We believe there’s more to visiting a college than just the tour and information session so we created Daytripper University. We got the inside scoop from the people who know best -- current students and parents! DTU college itinearies make planning your tours easy. We have all the details on where to stay near campus, the closest spots for that crucial morning coffee plus the best places to eat lunch, dinner and late night bites. Current students weigh in on what they love about their school and offer helpful advice to prospective students.  Once your child is accepted use DTU itineraries for the next four years of Parents Weekends and catch up visits!

We encourage you to spend time college touring!  In order to get a true impression of a school we think it’s important to go beyond the quad to get a real feel for the neighborhood that may become your child’s home for the next four years. Plus a college road trip is a great opportunity to bond with your soon to be gone high school student. Plan the trip together; treat it as an adventure, a mini vacation--be tourists—see the country and not just the colleges. Car rides and plane flights are a wonderful chance for one on one time, while lunches and dinners allow time to reflect and discuss impressions of each school. Long after the tours blend together, you will remember the time spent together!

Who are we? With one recent college graduate, two still in the thick of things and one high school senior the college admissions process is still very fresh. Over on our sister site, Daytripper365 college touring sprung out of our love for great travel itineraries. We wish we had these practical guides to use while we were college touring! DT365 complimentary itineraries can be used for future, longer stays or when visiting students traveling abroad.

Plus there’s more…resources to help you decorate your college dorm room, the best presents for graduates, care packages to send to school and tips and advice from parents and students. Stick around and subscribe for more from Daytripper University and Daytripper365. Our bi-monthly newsletter keeps you up to date.

Happy touring!!!
